Paul Jenkins
– President
Born and raised in southern California; Served in US Air Force 1966-1972. Graduated class valedictorian from Dakota Wesleyan University, Mitchell, South Dakota, in 1975 with dual majors in Human Resources and Community Services. Left seminary to go into the business world. Operations supervisor and retired mortgage banker. In 1999, married to Marlene Weseloh, a retired Licensed Vocational Nurse. Moved to Raton in 2005 and immediately became active as founding member of Raton MainStreet. Co-founder of GrowRaton! with Kathy Harris in 2010 and currently serves as President. Also serves on the Executive Committee of the North East Economic Development Organization, Inc. dba NEEDO-NM and served as its first founding President 2012-2014, and currently serves as Vice President of the Raton Chamber of Commerce.  Also a member of the Raton Basin Economic Development Advisory Committee.  Loves to watch movies and TV dramas!
Rich Kuhns
– Vice President
Born in Indiana and raised in Norwalk, CA. Attended Excelsior High School (where they made the movie Grease 2). President of the electronics club and taught basic circuits while still in high school. Graduated from DeVry University, Phoenix, AZ 1982 with a degree as an Engineering Technician. Took graduate courses in electronics, business management, and marketing at various universities. Worked at Tektronix for 25 years in service, sales, management, and training where I was involved with projects that developed technologies and set standards for the way we use most kinds of electronics from cell phones, digital television, personal computers, to the Internet. Married PennySue on February 14, 1983. Retired from Tektronix in 1996 and started PennyRich International as a Microsoft consultant and computer manufacturer (have personally built over 3,000 custom computers). In 1998, moved to Raton and opened the Book Oasis, a Christian bookstore. Also started the Computer Guys (have worked on, supported, or built many of the computer systems in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado). Sold those two businesses so we could focus on other endeavors (the Enchanted Grounds Espresso Bar & Cafe, PennyRich International Internet services, and the Oil and Gas Equipment Supply Center). Served on Raton Mainstreet as one of the founding board members, was President of the 2nd street Raton Business Association, currently serves on the GrowRaton! Board of Directors and chairs the Business Recruitment and Retention Task Force. Spends extra time teaching at church and helping others.
Kathy Harris
– Secretary
Born and raised in Raton, New Mexico; Graduated from New Mexico State University in 1979 with dual majors in Accounting and Business Administration. Married Bob Harris in 1992 and since 2009 worked with him at Title Services, Inc. as office manager for this and several other small businesses we own. Previously employed by Miners Colfax Medical Center in various administrative positions for 28 years until my retirement in 2008. In 2010 co-founded GrowRaton! with Paul Jenkins. In addition, I have served in the following organizations: Arthur Johnson Memorial Library Board, Raton Chamber Ambassadors, Raton MainStreet, and the Professional Business Women of Raton. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my dogs and horses, gardening, reading and traveling with my husband.
David Wentling
– Treasurer
Born and raised in the mid-Atlantic area. Began organizing educational programs on renewable energy while in college. Obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Towson State University in Maryland. Voted Outstanding Conservationist of 1983 by Solar Action of Maryland. Married my wife Lisa and raised two children in the Baltimore suburbs. Worked for Baltimore City and several small businesses with career focused on construction, research, inspection, education, and training of residential conservation and energy efficiency upgrades. Moved to Raton NM in 2009. The following year started volunteering and became a founding director of GrowRaton!. Organized their Solid Waste Recycling Task Force. Currently, chair of that task force and Treasurer of GrowRaton!. Enjoys hiking and traveling.
Wendy Mileta
– Director
 Fourth generation Raton native.  Her grandparents migrated from Pacentro, Italy to Raton NM and began Raton Memories.  They later opened a mercantile and dry goods store in Raton’s Historic Downtown district on 1st street in 1913.  Her grandfather and two great uncles began their own restaurant business in 1951.  Her grandmother began a retail business in 1985. Having been around Raton for a long time, Wendy’s roots grow deep with an extensive family history in the area.  In 1994, Wendy married another Raton native, Pete Mileta, Jr., and together they have three beautiful children:  Dante, Camryn, and Madisyn.  Wendy is very active in the community and with her children, volunteering her time with various programs.  Currently, she is an Associate Broker with Realty One of New Mexico here in Raton.  Exposure to her family’s entrepreneurial spirit and the local real estate market provides the Board with valuable perspectives on how we can help grow Raton’s economy.
David Stafford
– Director
Born and raised in Claremont, California and married to Cimarron girl Julia Davis Stafford, David has lived and practiced law in Raton since 1986. He maintained a client-oriented civil and criminal litigation practice, from which he retired in 2011. His public service commitments have included terms on a number of boards and committees, including the Raton Golf Course, New Mexico Community Foundation, Raton Recreation and Education Council, the Shortgrass Music festival, Service Organization for Youth (SOY), the Raton Recreation Center Development Committee and founding Director for GrowRaton!. Otherwise, he is generally traveling, golfing or playing fantasy sports.
Patrick Walsh
– Director
Born in Sheridan, Wyoming, grew up in Wyoming and Colorado.  Raised seven children and seven grandchildren.  Over the past 22 years, served as program director and executive director for three non-profit Christian camp programs.  Has direct experience working with youth in experiential outdoor learning and adventure programs.  Has over 27 years experience managing and developing facilities which serve children, youth and adults.  Currently serves as Program Specialist at the Mandala Retreat Center in Northeast New Mexico.  Has extensive hunting, and fishing, and outdoor program experience in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, South Dakota and New Mexico.  Recent graduate of the Safari Club International Wilderness Leadership School in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and graduate of NOLS in Lander, Wyoming.  Values outdoor education and conservation and the role they play in our country and culture.
